The Rheinsberger Kammertheater festival is set to begin this summer with a fresh programme and new leadership. Tobias Wray takes on the role of artistic director for the first time, officially starting on 15 January 2026. The event will showcase 28 performances across multiple venues in Rheinsberg, Germany.

This year’s festival also marks a special milestone: the 300th anniversary of Prince Henry’s birth. A series of events near me will honour his legacy, adding historical significance to the celebrations.

The festival kicks off with a grand opera gala, featuring the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt. This opening night sets the tone for a season filled with classical and contemporary works.

Among the highlights is Giovanni Paisiello’s The Barber of Seville, a world-famous opera that remains a crowd favourite. The programme also includes André-Modeste Grétry’s operetta Bluebeard and Clemens K. Thomas’s modern opera Dollhouse, offering a mix of styles for audiences. Performances will take place in various locations around the palace, from the courtyard and hedge theatre to the hall of mirrors and palace theatre. Each venue provides a unique atmosphere for the shows. As always, the festival gives young opera singers a chance to perform.
