In the world of cinema, Justin Tipping's latest film, "Him," promises an intriguing blend of sports drama and psychological horror. The film, released in Germany in 2025, follows the journey of a rising star quarterback, Cameron Cade, portrayed by Tyriq Withers.

Cameron is on the cusp of a professional career, having excelled as a star college quarterback. However, his life takes a dark turn when he is attacked by a mysteriously costumed figure and suffers a traumatic brain injury just before participating in an NFL scouting event.

The film starts out promisingly, offering a glimpse into the high-pressure world of American football. But as the story unfolds, "Him" devolves into a surreal phantasmagoria. The second half of the film is filled with psychological intimidation, brutal physical ordeals, and a cult-like group of deranged, grotesque-looking people.

Marlon Wayans portrays Isaiah White, a legendary quarterback who trains Cameron. Tim Heidecker takes on the role of Cameron's rapacious agent, while Maurice Greene is the hulking trainer in the film. Julia Fox plays White's influencer spouse.

The film also features a hapless fellow athlete who is subjected to footballs being propelled into his face at high speed. The final act of the film is extremely gory and may leave audience members either hooting in delight or shaking their heads in derision.

Jim Jefferies plays a wisecracking sports doctor in the film, and the production is overseen by Jordan Peele. The film includes frequent blood transfusions of a highly suspicious nature, adding to the eerie atmosphere.

"Him" is more gonzo than chilling, offering a unique take on the traditional sports drama. It's a film that will undoubtedly leave viewers with a mix of emotions, questioning the lengths one might go to achieve greatness. Whether it's a masterpiece or a misfire, one thing is for certain - "Him" is a film that will not be easily forgotten.
