Hey there!

You betta get ready for some epic entertainment, folks! The Nibelungen-Festspiele in the historic city of Worms has dropped some major names from their ensemble for this year's production, "See aus Asche" (July 11-27). And let me tell you, it's gonna be a lively one, with familiar faces like Jasmin Tabatabai and Wolfram Koch setting the stage!

Sit back and relax, 'cause you're about to get the lowdown on this medieval masterpiece!

Jasmin Tabatabai, an actress and musician who graced our screens in "The Baader Meinhof Complex," and Wolfram Koch, known for his role as commissioner Paul Brix in the Frankfurt "Tatort" until 2024, will be performing in front of the city's magnificent historic cathedral. Tabatabai has already been part of the festivities back in 2006 and 2007, and Koch is a fresh face to the production.

So, you might be wondering about their roles and who else will join them in this breathtaking spectacle, under the direction of Nico Hofmann. Well, you'll just have to stay tuned for more updates directly from the organizers.

"Game of Thrones" of the Middle Ages, anyone?"

In "See aus Asche," the Nibelungenlied, one of Germany's greatest sagas, will come to life on the Worms stage. Ever since its launch in 2002, the festival has made a name for itself beyond Rhineland-Palatinate with its remarkable performances of dragon slayer Siegfried and his betrayer Hagen. But this comprehensive view on the entire saga is rare, making it a must-see for fans of the epic tale.

The drama was penned by the highly-acclaimed author Roland Schimmelpfennig, one of Germany's most frequently-performed contemporary playwrights. Mina Salehpour, a director who has worked at the Wiener Burgtheater, Schauspiel Köln, and Schauspiel Hannover, will take the reins.

For those who aren't familiar, the Nibelungen epic is often compared to "Game of Thrones," set in the Middle Ages. In 2022, Worms attracted approximately 20,000 visitors, reaching an impressive 87% occupancy rate. Tickets for the tribune, housing around 1,400 seats, cost between 29 and 139 euros.
