Revelries at Ballermann along the Rhine-Herne Canal

In a jovial jam session, the city of Oberhausen transformed into a tropical oasis on a scorching hot Saturday, baptized "Inselfieber", touted as the biggest Mallorca party in Germany. This outrageous affair was so reminiscent of the Balearic isle's legendary Ballermann that you'd've sworn you were on a sandy Spanish beach instead of the banks of the Rhine-Herne Canal next to Westfield Centro.

Performing under the sun were artists who'd usually be crooning in "Bierkönig" and "Megapark in El Arenal" but decided this was the place to be, including Mickie Krause, Mia Julia, Lorenz Büffel, Isi Glück, Julian Sommer, and Marc Eggers. The party's lively vibe had its host and singer Frenzy ("Lampen an") hollering to the media, "This event is a thousand percent Mallorca - transported magically to Germany! That's what makes this event so special!"

This summer extravaganza drew over 35,000 enthusiastic festival-goers, eager to revel in the Mallorca-style ambiance. Despite a generous flow of refreshments, some festive spirits overindulged, leaving paramedics working tirelessly throughout the event.

Now, you might wonder, how did this Mallorcan extravaganza materialize in Oberhausen? Think back to the popular Ballermann song, "Call the doc, I've got island fever." Well, this boisterous bash seems to have given the residents just that - an infectious desire to escape to warmer climates. And while the Rhine-Herne Canal may not be a sandy beach, Inselfieber brought a slice of Mediterranean madness straight to the Ruhr region, leaving Germans with an experience they won't forget anytime soon.

Live music, reminiscent of the popular nightlife in Mallorca's Ballermann, filled the air as the Ruhr area's vibrant lifestyle converged at the Inselfieber Mallorca Party. Among the various attractions, fashion-and-beauty stalls, entertainment, and the music scene thrived, offering festival-goers a taste of the Balearic isle right in the heart of Oberhausen.
