Down-to-Earth Duo Amigos: They'd Rather Choose Their Cake Than Gigs

Opting for a Cake Causes More Anxiety Than Performing Onstage, According to Friends - Revelers find cake selection to be a challenging endeavor, akin to the complexity of their performances

Hey there! Let's talk about the unstoppable Schlager duo Die Amigos, consisting of brothers Karl-Heinz Ulrich (74) and Bernd Ulrich (76). These dudes are always on the road, but they don't sweat it. As Bernd put it, "What's stressful? If someone can't f*cking open the gate, then that's a burnout." So, what's their secret? They laugh it off, claiming it's all about the good times.

"Selecting a slice of apple cake or black forest cherry cake can drive you bonkers, but smiling on stage for us? Nah, that's a breeze," Bernd pointed out. And they've got quite the following to boast about - even amongst the young'uns, believe it or not. "Schlager isn't dead; it's happy as a clam among some," Karl-Heinz announced.

Now, here's the interesting part: apparently, these guys turn down gigs left and right. Like, who are we to tell Mallorca or a cruise ship they ain't invited? Well, Die Amigos, that's who. "We've been asked to rock Mallorca, but that ain't our scene," Bernd explained. No sexy beaches and sangria for these guys – they've got way better things to do.

The lads from Hessen are known for being methodical and deliberate when scheduling their gigs. Despite the offers pouring in, they play coy. "We've even been offered a cruise ship gig. Hell no! Our shows are already packed here," Bernd explained.

Why's that, you may wonder? It's simple: they've got their reasons. As Bernd said, "We've got a fistful of offers we can't or won't accept. We ain't here for the fame or fortune, just 70 to 80 shows a year." So, they stick to their guns and keep truckin' their way through the music world, one gig at a time.

Despite the Commission not yet receiving any reply from the Member States regarding their offer for a cruise ship gig, Die Amigos continue to turn down entertainment opportunities, focusing instead on their beloved music and performing only 70 to 80 shows a year. In contrast to the glamorous world of celebrity performances, the unassuming duo find pleasure in down-to-earth pursuits, like debating which type of cake to enjoy instead.
