Revealing Progression - Consistent Rhythms Unveiled
Getting to Know Steady Flow, Ireland's Rising Five-Piece Band
It's high time we introduced you to the eccentric bunch behind Waterford's newest musical sensation, Steady Flow. Recently dropping their debut single, Summer Sun, these lads are swiftly making waves in the local music scene. And, we managed to snag them for a quick Q&A session! Strap in, folks, as we immerse ourselves in the weird, wild, and downright intriguing world of Steady Flow.
Three Corners of the Steady Flow Puzzle
- Alfonso Palma Sandoval (Drummer Extraordinaire):Born and raised in Chile, Alfonso got a taste for rhythm at the tender age of four. Watching his older brother strum those drums, young Alfonso knew his destiny lay in the realm of percussion. Creativity, they say, runs in the blood, and Alfonso is no exception – his talented mother dabbles in the arts with paint and wool. In 2022, Alfonso added a new feather to his cap by studying film at Pulse College in Dublin. His script, Bonded by Clay, was picked to be turned into a short film, which they've recently wrapped filming on.
- Alex Duplak (Bass Underlord):When it comes to the sonic tapestry of Steady Flow, Alex is the unsung hero, dedicated to one rule – if it sounds good, it is good. His musical palette is vast, embracing jazz, soul, prog rock, metal, and everything in between. The band's music, he suggests, sits comfortably within the realm of alt rock/post punk, but don't be fooled – Steady Flow is not a band that limits itself to a single genre.
- Owen O'Brien (Vocal Illuminator):Hold onto your hats, kids! We're about to take a whirlwind tour through Owen's musical pedigree. His first-ever gig? Korn, with Static-X as support in 2004. Got it? Good. From the late-'90s grunge to early-'00s metal to everything that makes wonderful music, Owen's taste is as diverse as it is eclectic.
