The star of the show was undoubtedly Will Smeed, who scored a commendable 94 runs in the final. This was his first fifty in a T20 knockout game, marking a significant milestone in his career.

Green and Dickson deliver crucial contributions with the bat

Chris Green (LAN) and Sean Dickson (SOM) also made valuable contributions with the bat. Green ended his innings unbeaten on 36, while Dickson showcased his power-hitting skills with a stand-out 71 not out off just 26 balls in the quarter-final against Bears.

Northants' Sanderson takes the spotlight with record-breaking bowling performance

Ben Sanderson (NOR) was a force to be reckoned with, leading Northants' bowling attack with 26 wickets in 16 matches. His spell against Worcestershire was particularly noteworthy, as he took the third-best figures in the history of the Blast with 6-8. Sanderson's performance included a hat-trick, making it the eighth best figures in all-time T20 history.

Key overseas signings make an impact

Riley Meredith (SOM), a key overseas signing for the champions, led the attack in the group stage, taking 28 wickets in 14 matches with an economy rate of 8.62 and a strike rate of 11.35. Hasan Ali (BEARS) also made his presence felt, taking 25 wickets in 12 matches with an economy rate of 8.65 and a strike rate of 10.40.

Local heroes shine

Toby Albert (HAM) set a record chase for Somerset in the final, scoring 85 runs. Scott Currie (HAM), who was rewarded with a maiden England call-up for his Blast performance, took 27 wickets in 17 matches with an economy rate of 8.65 and a strike rate of 13.40.

Lancashire's Green impresses despite semi-final loss

Lancashire, led by Chris Green, topped the North Group but unfortunately lost the semi-final against Somerset in Green's absence. Green, who had 21 wickets in 14 matches with an economy rate of 7.37 and a strike rate of 15.14, will undoubtedly be a key player for Lancashire in future tournaments.

Notable Performances

  • Will Jacks (SUR) scored a 58-ball century against Sussex, his first T20 hundred for Surrey.
  • Tom Moores WK (NOT) scored 459 runs in 14 matches, with a high score of 75.
  • Currie specializes in bowling at the death and now has one of the top 10 bowling averages in English domestic T20 competitions since 2020.
  • Smeed's fifth 50 plus score in the competition marks a return to his hard-hitting best.
  • Dickson finished unbeaten five times during the competition.
