Returning without a sense of home: such was the mood at Cro during the Cannstatter Wasen fair
In the heart of Stuttgart, the Cannstatter Wasen played host to an electrifying night as Cro, the renowned German rapper, took the stage for the Cro Chronicles Open Air Tour 2025. Joined by Kasi & Antonius, Greta, and a host of special guests, the evening promised an unforgettable fusion of music, energy, and interaction.
The setlist was a vibrant journey through Cro's discography, featuring hits like "Easy," "Nie weg," "Bad Boi," and "Blessed," along with fan favourites such as "Crobot," "Hoch," and "Letzter Song." The night also saw the debut of some new tracks, including "Kapitel 1," "Fkngrt," "2kx," "Unendlichkeit," and "I can feel it (Intro)."
But the surprises didn't stop there. Cro, known for his transformative performances, donned various alter egos throughout the night. One of these alter egos sported a Panda mask, a nod to Cro's past performances, while another appeared in a newly shining chrome mask during the grand finale. The AI-generated female voice concluded the night with a hint at Cro's continuous transformation, stating, "Masks are endless."
As the night wore on, the Cannstatter Wasen transformed into an interactive playing field. Oversized softballs were tossed around, and an impromptu basketball match broke out, bringing the crowd closer to the action. The night ended with Cro saying, "Take care on your way home, you little punks," a fitting farewell to an exhilarating evening.
Cro's connection to Stuttgart runs deep, with the city being the site of some of his most beautiful concerts. His affinity for the local football club, VfB Stuttgart, and personal ties to the city, including friendships within the German national football team, have significantly influenced his public persona.
In recent years, Cro has evolved musically, moving away from his down-to-earth feel-good rapper image of 2011. His music now incorporates more varied influences, subtly expanding in thematic depth and production complexity, while still maintaining its accessible, pop-rap appeal.
The concert featured special guest performances from Sampagne and Wilsn, who joined Cro for performances of "Tempo" and "Ich liebe...," and Danju, who added to the evening's energy. White inflatable figures resembling "Crodie" merchandise lined the stage at times, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Psaiko.Dino, Cro's companion and producer, was seen wearing a red VfB jersey during the performance, a clear nod to Cro's love for the city and its football culture. In a surprising twist, Badchieff also made an appearance, adding another layer of excitement to the already electric night.
As Cro continues to evolve musically and expand his live performances, one thing remains certain: his connection to Stuttgart and its vibrant cultural scene will continue to play a significant role in his career.
The electrifying night at the Cannstatter Wasen was not just about Cro's captivating performances, but also the fusion of music, entertainment, and interaction. The setlist, featuring tracks like "Easy," "Nie weg," and "2kx," offered a vibrant journey through his discography.
