Stepping Back into Victoria's Secret Limelight
It's been a while since we last saw Victoria's Secret Angels strut their stuff on the runway, but the iconic fashion show is making a comeback this autumn. The announcement was made via an Instagram post by beauty icons Tyra Banks and Gigi Hadid.
Tyra, having walked the runway nine times during her time with the lingerie label, and the ever-loyal Gigi, who was part of last year's touring team, have both been invited to rejoin the Victoria's Secret Show in New York City this October. The excitement was palpable, as evidenced by the caption on the post: "Sorry, couldn't write a caption, we were too busy picking our jaws up off the floor when Tyra Banks and Gigi Hadid handed out VSFS invitations. You get it."
Superstar Reunion
Joining these two beauty legends will be other models like Candice Swanepoel, Imaan Hammam, Grace Elizabeth, Taylor Hill, and plus-size model Paloma Elsesser. In May, Victoria's Secret announced the show's return on Instagram, stating, "We've listened, and we're back. The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is coming back to represent us as we are today, along with all the glitz, glam, runway, wings, and musical entertainment you've come to love."
Empowering, Modern, by Women, for Women
The 2024 show promises to be more inclusive than its predecessors, representing who we are today. As announced in May, "The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2024 will deliver everything our customers have been asking for - glitz, glam, fashion, fun, wings, entertainment. But through a strong, modern lens that represents who we are today." The brand is excited to present a female-led version of this legendary event later this year.
Originally known for its grand unveiling of lingerie trends, featuring top models and high-profile artists, the show faced criticism for lack of inclusivity and was canceled in 2019. However, in 2023, the show's organizers launched "The Tour." Now, with Gigi Hadid rejoining Victoria's Secret, the brand promises to celebrate revamped commitment to inclusivity.
Iconic Comeback
With the return of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, beauty icons like Gigi Hadid and Tyra Banks will once again capture our hearts with their runway walk, joined by other models like Candice Swanepoel and Paloma Elsesser, championing the brand's newfound commitment to diversity.
