After 20 years since their debut album, Berlin-based band The BossHoss is set to release their anniversary album titled 'Back to the Boots' on Friday. The band, composed of Alec Völkel (53) and Sascha Vollmer (53), has been making waves in the music industry with their unique blend of country-rock.

The album, 'Back to the Boots', features a collaboration with R&B legend Dionne Warwick, who lends her voice to a new version of her hit 'What the World Needs Now Is Love'. Another notable track is a rock version of Willie Nelson's 'On the Road Again'. Interestingly, the band initially found the Johnny Cash classic 'Ring of Fire' too large to handle, but their interpretation of it did not make it to the album.

The upcoming concerts promise to feature songs such as 'One More Time', 'Win Win', 'Showdown', and 'Lunch'. 'Lunch' stands out as a lascivious track on the album, while 'German Angst' takes aim at German clichés like planning obsession and caution.

Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger has also contributed to the album, recording a voiceover for a song titled 'I'll be back'. The band's concept wasn't born in America, but at a bar in Berlin. Despite the second term of US President Donald Trump, The BossHoss maintains a love for the USA. Völkel expresses that from their perspective, what's going on in America is strange, but the country itself is still great. Vollmer believes that the strange events in America will pass, and America will become reasonable again.

Alec Völkel and Sascha Vollmer often travel to the United States for inspiration. The band's sound, with 20 years of experience added, evokes the scent of American country roads, motor oil, and whiskey in many places, but does not stir up country porridge. 'Back to the Boots' means, according to Vollmer, 'Back to the Fans - direct, loud, and unadulterated'.

The band's private project became known to a wider audience through self-burned CDs that were copied and distributed among friends. The BossHoss will tour through German clubs from late September, feeling close to their fans again, similar to their early years before appearing on 'The Voice'.

In conclusion, The BossHoss's anniversary album 'Back to the Boots' promises a unique blend of country-rock, with collaborations from renowned artists like Dionne Warwick and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The band's love for America shines through their music, despite the current political climate. Fans can look forward to energetic live performances and new, catchy tracks.
