Germany's Summer Weather Forecast: Warm and Changeable

Germany is set to experience a warm and changeable summer weather pattern in early to mid-August 2025, according to forecasts from the German Weather Service (DWD). Meteorologist Marco Manitta made the prediction.

Throughout the coming days, temperatures will range from the low to upper 20s Celsius (around 22°C to just under 30°C), with some regions potentially reaching close to 30°C. The heat wave pattern is expected to extend potentially into mid-August, as persistent heat waves sweep across central Europe, including Germany.

On Monday, the east of Germany will be partly cloudy, with some morning rain, and temperatures warming up to 22°C. The west and south, however, will be sunnier and warmer, with temperatures reaching 25-27°C.

Tuesday will be sunnier but cooler, with showers, especially near the central and eastern Alps. Temperatures will widely reach summery levels, with the east seeing around 26°C, the west and south reaching 27-30°C, and just under 30°C in the south.

As the week progresses, the north of Germany will remain changeable, with scattered showers, brief thunderstorms, and temperatures around 20°C on Wednesday. The far north will be cooler and cloudier on Friday.

On Thursday, temperatures in Germany will rise into the summer range of 25 to 30°C, with sunshine expected almost everywhere. The risk of thunderstorms will increase, especially in the west and south, from Friday until Sunday. South of the Main and Moselle rivers, temperatures will exceed 30°C by Friday.

Along the coast of Germany, temperatures on Thursday will be between 20 to 25°C. The south of Germany will remain dry and sunny all day on Friday. It's important to note that despite the potential for local thunderstorms, the overall weather impression will remain pleasant.

Citizens are advised to stay informed and take heat precautions, especially as climate change continues to shift seasonal patterns toward earlier and sometimes more intense heat periods. The heat waves in 2025 so far have occurred in short bursts rather than prolonged periods, and authorities have been advising precautions due to the heat. The ongoing pattern includes significant heat but typically not long stretches of extreme heat, though the current mid-August heat wave could be more persistent.

Citizens are advised to stay informed about the weather forecast, given Germany's anticipated warm and changeable summer pattern, as recommended by the German Weather Service (DWD). As the ongoing heat waves sweep across central Europe, including Germany, it's crucial to follow heat precautions due to the changing seasonal patterns influenced by climate change. The DWD weather forecast for August 4-10, 2025, will provide updates on the weather-forecasting for the coming days.
