Return of the trio to WSV
The Wuppertaler SV (WSV) is gearing up for an exciting run of matches in the Regionalliga West, starting with a home game against FC Schalke 04 U23 on August 23rd at Stadion am Zoo (2 pm).
Recent results show that the WSV has been in form, securing a strong home win against TSV Krefeld-Bockum, 7:0 on August 13th, and drawing 2:2 against Borussia Dortmund U23 on August 17th. These teams are currently in the lower half of the table, indicating a promising start to the season for the WSV.
The upcoming schedule also includes an away game against 1. FC Köln on September 1st and a home game against SC Wiedenbrück on September 13th. All three opponents are currently in the lower half of the table, providing an opportunity for the WSV to consolidate their position in the league.
However, the WSV will face a challenge in the match against Borussia Dortmund U23. Despite the draw in the previous encounter, the Dortmund U23 team managed a 5:3 win against Sportfreunde Lotte on Sunday, suggesting they are a formidable opponent. The WSV will be cautious, as they are being careful with Kadi Atmaca due to a muscle tear.
Interestingly, the match against Borussia Dortmund is not covered by WSV season tickets. Standing places for the match cost eight euros (reduced five euros), while seats on the main tribune cost twelve euros (reduced nine euros). Only standing tickets for WSV fans are available for the pre-sale.
The squad size for the WSV is expected to increase for the upcoming matches, with Alwin Weber returning to training. Alessio Arambasic has also completed his suspension and will play in the match against the U23 of Borussia Dortmund on August 16th, 2025.
The WSV will be hoping to get back on track after a 0:5 defeat against Rödinghausen. The results of these matches will help determine WSV's current league position.
For organisational reasons, the WSV has waived their home advantage for the upcoming matches, including the match against Borussia Dortmund. The WSV will face 1. FC Köln U21 on September 1st at Franz-Kremer-Stadion (7 pm), and the home match against SC Wiedenbrück on September 13th at Stadion am Zoo (2 pm).
As always, the WSV encourages their fans to come out and support the team in these crucial matches. Stay tuned for more updates on the WSV's progress in the Regionalliga West.
