Dubai Police Esports Tournament Returns for Fifth Edition

The fifth edition of the Dubai Police Esports Tournament will take place from August 14 to 17, 2025, at the Dubai Police Officers Club in Al Jaddaf. This exciting event will draw large crowds of gaming fans, further solidifying Dubai's status as a regional hub for competitive esports.

The tournament will feature over 1,500 players from various nationalities, including international participants. The total prize pool for the event is a substantial AED 200,000 (approximately $54,400 USD).

Rashid Mohammed Abdullah, Head of Events Planning and Execution at the Dubai Sports Council, was present at the press conference where the announcement was made. He reaffirmed the Dubai Sports Council's support for the tournament, highlighting its role in engaging young people and protecting the community from cybercrime risks.

Major Abdullah Al Shehhi, Director of the Cybercrime Department at Dubai Police, was also present at the press conference. He emphasized the importance of fostering a healthy approach to esports, encouraging balance between gaming and physical and mental well-being. He also outlined the tournament's focus on promoting cybersecurity awareness, balanced gaming, and online safety within the esports community.

The event will raise awareness of cyber fraud, online extortion, and the importance of protecting personal data during in-game interactions. Participants will be informed about dedicated police services for reporting cybercrimes, including the "Ecrime" platform and the online awareness portal available at ecrimehub.gov.ae.

Registration for the tournament is still open, welcoming players aged 10 to 35, with both male and female participants encouraged to join. The tournament aims to be an inclusive event, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among gamers from around the world.

This edition of the Dubai Police Esports Tournament reflects Dubai Police's strategic goal to combine esports with digital safety education while engaging a broad, international gaming audience. It is a testament to Dubai's commitment to promoting a safe and enjoyable gaming environment for all.
