Retelling the Origination Tale of the Terrifying Sci-fi Masterpiece "Alien"
New Horror Series "Alien: Earth" Debuts on Streaming Services
Get ready, horror and science fiction fans! A new addition to the Alien franchise, "Alien: Earth," is now available on various streaming services. This prequel TV series takes us back to Earth in the year 2120, two years before the original 1979 Alien movie.
In this series, we follow the aftermath of the USCSS Maginot, a Weyland-Yutani ship returning from a 65-year mission carrying dangerous alien specimens, which crash-lands on Earth after a Xenomorph escapes on board, killing the crew and forcing the ship down in a hazardous area.
The story centers around Wendy, a hybrid—part human, part synthetic—created by the megacorporation Prodigy through radical consciousness transfer from terminally ill children into synthetic bodies. Wendy, who was once a sick child named Marcy, is tasked with guiding other children through this transformation and struggles to reunite with her brother Joe (nicknamed Hermit), a medic for Prodigy working in New Siam.
As Weyland-Yutani and Prodigy’s corporate forces clash over control of the alien specimens from the crash, Wendy and Hermit’s paths intersect with a cyborg security officer named Morrow. The series blends corporate espionage, cyberpunk elements, and horror as characters confront the deadly Xenomorph threat now present on Earth.
Set against a backdrop of competing mega-corporations and technological advances (including cyborgs, synths, and hybrids), the series explores themes of immortality, identity, and the human versus artificial intelligence conflict. The hybrid project aims to create beings smarter and more capable than humans to win this corporate race.
The series shows how humanity first battles the Xenomorph menace on Earth, setting up the timeline just before the events where Ripley and the Nostromo crew encounter the aliens in space.
In "Alien: Earth," cyborgs and synthetics populate the Earth. Synthetics are humanoid robots with artificial intelligence, while cyborgs are humans with biological and artificial components. The Prodigy Corporation's CEO, a character resembling Elon Musk, is responsible for the development of these advanced beings.
"Alien: Earth" is a unique portrayal of a future Earth ruled by five tech corporations. The series offers a thrilling blend of horror, science fiction, and corporate intrigue, making it a must-watch for fans of the genre. So, grab your popcorn and settle in for a chilling ride with "Alien: Earth"!
