Hot off the Press: Even Iran's on Trump's Travel Ban List
Restricted Access Instituted: Trump Executive Order Affects 12 Countries
Hey there! So, the bold and brash President Trump's at it again, ratcheting up the heat with a new travel ban that'll bar citizens from 12 countries from stepping foot in the good ol' USA, starting June 9th. And that's not all, seven more countries will be feeling the squeeze too, with partial restrictions.
The White House has labeled these moves as a crackdown on "foreign terrorists," according to the docs we've peeked at. So, who ends up on Trump's naughty list? Citizens from Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen won't be welcome here anymore.
Now, why the heck are these citizens being kicked out? The White House spills the beans on the reasons for each country on the list. For Afghanistan, Libya, Sudan, Somalia, and Yemen, it's a lack of "competent" central authorities for passport and verification concerns. Yemen, a hot bed of ongoing US military operations and damn near controlled by the pro-Iranian Houthis, is another red flag. As for Iran, a potential nuclear deal buddy, it's on the list as a("Let's call a spade a spade, an unfriendly sponsor of terrorism"). Most other countries are getting the cold shoulder because there's a nasty habit of overstaying their welcome in the USA.
Trump's announced this ban without so much as a heads up. Just before this, he was making a big show of it, addressing 3,000 folks on the White House balcony during a "summer soirée." And if you were wondering about the timing of this ban, Trump blames the brutal attack on Jewish demonstrators in Colorado that left 12 people injured[1][3]. The guy's got a point, but here's a fun fact, just days before this, Trump had signed a decree that partially restricts entry from Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela too.
The Trump administration defends the move as concerns about not having enough information about these folks, and weighing the risks they pose to the good ol' US of A. Trump's also keen on pointing fingers at these countries for not bothering to take back their deportable citizens.
Trump's already been busy with deportations in the past, and the Supreme Court's given the green light for his government to boot half a million migrants[2][4]. In fact, they've ruled that Trump's government can revoke the residence permits of around 532,000 people who entered the USA under a special Biden program.

In light of President Trump's travel ban, questions have arisen about the country's community policy and its implications, particularly concerning Iran, a country labeled as an "unfriendly sponsor of terrorism." Simultaneously, the employment policy comes into focus due to the partial restrictions affecting seven countries, and concerns about the background checks of individuals from these nations.
