Restart of the fastener production in Dillweißenstein
After a three-year hiatus, the much-anticipated Fasnetsumzug is making its comeback in 2018. This traditional event, a social highlight of the year in the southeastern district of Pforzheim, will take place in the picturesque location of Dillweißenstein.
The parade, organised by six local groups including Belrem Gilde, Bürgerverein Dillweißenstein, Karnevalsgesellschaft Hochburg Pforzheim, Kräheneck-Hexen Dillweißenstein, Pforzheimer Faschingsgesellschaft, and Spielvereinigung Dillweißenstein, will commence at the Bogenbrücke, marking a change from the Weißensteiner Bridge.
The route of the parade has been shortened to approximately 1.4 kilometers, making it more compact and ensuring a more intimate experience for the local community. Unlike previous years, the parade will no longer turn into Ludwigsplatz, freeing up space for additional food and drink options.
The parade's end will now be in Hirsauer Straße, a change from the traditional Ludwigsplatz. However, the traditional burning of the snowman on the Ludwigsplatz will still take place after the parade, maintaining a cherished local custom.
In addition to the parade, several events are planned to accompany the festivities. A mobile stage will be set up on the Ludwigsplatz for the "cult band Knutschfleck" to perform the "Kehraus" starting at 16:30.
Volunteers are still needed for the Fasnetsumzug in Dillweißenstein. If you're interested in joining the fun, you can contact [email protected] to lend a hand in selling entrance bands, driving parade floats, or acting as "Rad-Engel" escorts.
The Fasnetsumzug in Dillweißenstein, known as the Jubiläumsumzug "66 Jahre Fasnetsumzug", is expected to be a compact yet vibrant celebration. The cannon shot to start the parade will still come from the "Grausame Barbara".
The return of the Fasnetsumzug is significant for the local community in Pforzheim, as it represents a continuation of a cherished tradition that has been celebrated for over six decades. Mark your calendars for February 13, 2018, and join the community in celebrating this lively event.
