Residents of Konayev openly discuss their issues at the AMANAT public hearing
Reception for AMANAT Party in Konayev Town
Welcomed by liter.kz news, a public event happening in Konayev City involved AMANAT party reps, regional officials, law enforcement, lawyers, and some locals. The base for the gathering was the Center for Population Services.
The residents had quite a few concerns on the table. These ranged from worn-out infrastructure and land plot registration, to access to social help, housing, community services, and labor relations. Some even wanted legal advice about alimony, inheritance, and labor disputes. High utility bills and individual home-building issues were also discussed.
The social status of individuals involved in the Afghan conflict was a special focus at this gathering. According to Kanat Moldabekov, chair of the Almaty region's Veterans Council, they've been repeatedly petitioning the ministry, but no resolution is in sight. Former Afghan campaign participants were set equal to veterans of the Great Patriotic War in a 1995 law. Since 2010, that status was stripped from them, along with significant benefits such as healthcare, housing, and free travel. They demand their social justice restoration and guarantees returned.
The AMANAT party showed willingness to support this issue. Aлия Sadyrbaeva, head of AMANAT's Public Reception Office, said appeals on this topic come from various regions and require multi-department handling. AMANAT intends to work with Majilis deputies to submit recommendations to the deputy prime minister.
The declining interest among schoolchildren in reading literature and weakening skills in the Kazakh language was another hot topic for discussion. Abzal Nuskabai, a local parent, shared his concerns about the current trend and proposed solutions like reintroducing regular poetry memorization, mandatory holiday reading lists, and oral retelling assignments for fairytales and stories. Nuskabayev believes these teachings should be standardized as unified methodological guidelines by the Ministry of Education and implemented nationwide.
Nuskabai's proposal has been logged and forwarded to the Ministry for further consideration. The party assured that the matter is under their observation and will keep tabs until a decision is made.
This event marked the recording and forwarding of all appeals to the relevant authorities. Some issues were resolved immediately. Larger matters, like the veteran status, educational policy, and legislative proposals, will be moved to the national level. AMANAT intends to monitor each area in close cooperation with government bodies.
Citizens of Kazakhstan can reach AMANAT's Public Reception through a call-center (8 800 080 4441), WhatsApp (8 700 800 4441), or email ([email protected]). Appointments must be scheduled at least three days in advance.
