In a heartwarming and significant event, the kibbutz Kerem Shalom returned home after approximately two years. The return was marked in a festive and moving ceremony, attended by numerous dignitaries, including the commander of the Gaza Division, Barak Hiram, MK Michael Biton (Blue and White), and Deputy Director of the Finance Ministry, Israel Malachi.

The event, which took place on the eve of a holiday (although not a holiday exactly, according to Brig. Gen. Hiram), was a moment of uplift and joy for many. It was the first time since Oct. 7 that Brig. Gen. Hiram felt a sense of uplift, he noted.

The kibbutz, which comes to make things grow and add life, after a massacre two years ago, also brought with it an air of resilience and hope. Council head Michal Uziyahu expressed pride in the community's resilience, and the returning residents were seen as a source of strength for the community.

Several members of the civilian emergency squad were honoured posthumously during the event for their service and sacrifice. Tragically, four people were killed in a rocket barrage near the Gaza border crossing, but the return of the kibbutz was a symbol of hope and perseverance.

Elsewhere, the UK Prime Minister held discussions with Israeli President Isaac Herzog regarding the Gaza crisis. In a related development, Hamas claims to have executed six Israeli agents, but no further details about the incident were provided.

It was also reported that a candidate for the position of 'Gaza Strip governor' was arrested in Ramallah, but the candidate's name was not available in the provided search results.

In a positive step towards peace, police removed protesters, allowing aid trucks to enter Gaza. Additionally, following the attack, Israel reopened the Gaza crossing.

In the wake of the return of the kibbutz Kerem Shalom, the community draws strength from the returning residents, according to Michal Uziyahu. Brig. Gen. Hiram expressed similar feelings, stating that the return of the kibbutz was a source of great joy and uplift.
