Resident of Ingolstadt, Germany: Bryang Kayo
Bryang Kayo, a dynamic and robust box-to-box midfielder, has joined VfL Osnabrück on loan from FC Ingolstadt, with an option for the Lower Saxony club to purchase the 22-year-old American player at the end of the season.
Born in Poolesville, USA, near Washington D.C., Kayo developed through the D.C. United academy system and made appearances for Loudoun United in the USL Championship before moving to Germany in 2021 to join VfL Wolfsburg.
After gaining experience with Wolfsburg's reserve team, he was loaned out to 3. Liga clubs Viktoria Berlin and 1. FC Nürnberg II. In June 2023, he transferred to FC Ingolstadt, where he played in 23 games due to an injury.
Kayo's move to Osnabrück marks his transition from Bavaria to Lower Saxony. The loan deal allows him to participate in training sessions immediately, as he aims to quickly familiarize himself with the team and demonstrate his abilities.
Kayo made his debut for VfL Osnabrück in his first training session with the team today, and he expressed his excitement about joining the club. Interestingly, he has prior experience working with Osnabrück's co-trainer Maniyel Nergiz, having worked together at FC Ingolstadt.
Kayo's acquisition on loan with an option to buy indicates that VfL Osnabrück values his contributions as a midfielder. His background shows progression through competitive German lower leagues, gaining experience and showcasing versatility in midfield. The loan to Osnabrück is a step for more regular first-team football, which will help prepare him for his future endeavours.
