Resident Evil Requiem Launches Feb 27, 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2
Resident Evil Requiem, the upcoming survival horror game, is set to launch on February 27, 2026, for multiple platforms including the Nintendo Switch 2. Game Director Koshi Nakanishi and the Capcom team have been working together to adapt the game for the portable console, leveraging their expertise from previous Resident Evil titles.
The development team behind Resident Evil Requiem for Nintendo Switch 2 had a smooth process, according to Nakanishi. They were supported by the Capcom team and utilised the RE ENGINE to ensure a quality port. The Switch 2 version's development was influenced by the earlier Switch 2 port of Resident Evil Village, indicating a learned approach.
Despite the team's efforts, Digital Foundry rated the game's technical condition on Switch 2 poorly. They cited low resolution and subpar texture quality, suggesting room for improvement. However, the team was pleasantly surprised by the final result on the portable console. The game was made adaptive for various devices from the start, not downsized for the Switch 2, indicating a focus on optimisation.
Resident Evil Requiem is set to release on multiple platforms, including the Nintendo Switch 2. While the Switch 2 version faced criticism for its technical condition, the development process went smoothly, and the team was pleased with the result. Fans can expect to see new locations in Raccoon City and can look forward to the game's release later this year.
