Researchers Deterred by AfD Minister's Alarming Image, According to Report

In the state of Baden-Württemberg, many young researchers are facing challenges in finding study places, affordable housing, and adequate working conditions in science. This issue, coupled with concerns about the Greens' ideological bias, 'cancel culture', 'gender' obsession, and excessive bureaucracy, has led to a growing dissatisfaction among the research community.

Addressing these concerns is the AfD fraction in the State Parliament of Baden-Württemberg. Led by Josef Walter, the press spokesperson and head of the press office, the AfD stands for scientific freedom, open debate culture, and consistent support for local talent.

The AfD fraction has been vocal about the need for excellent conditions for research and teaching at home, less political interference, more performance principle, and better career paths for graduates. They criticize a ministry that neglects scientific talent but seeks to recruit international experts with taxpayers' money.

Dr. Rainer Balzer MdL, the AfD fraction's spokesperson on education, recently responded to remarks made by Petra Olschowski, who aims for another academic migration program. Balzer argued that the Green minister focuses on bringing in international talent while neglecting scientific talent at home.

Currently, there are no publicly known scientific personalities who openly support the AfD faction in Baden-Württemberg and hold an official position within the faction. The science minister of Baden-Württemberg has even warned that the AfD's rise deters international researchers from coming to the region.
