Representatives Travel from Kunming to Dietzenbach
Five-Day adventure in Dietzenbach: A Trip to Remember with Kunming City Officials
Get ready for an exciting journey! In June 2025, Dietzenbach welcomed a delegation from our sister city, Kunming, China. This unforgettable five-day adventure focused on exchanging expertise in administration, education, environment, and culture. The group was graciously led by Kunming's deputy mayor, Liang Kun, and accompanied by representatives from agriculture, education, environment, and foreign affairs.
Touring Dietzenbach's Landmarks
Our esteemed guests started their adventure at Dietzenbach's town hall, where Mayor Dr. Dieter Lang warmly welcomed them. After introductions, the group learned about current municipal projects. The delegation then journeyed to the county house in Dietzenbach, where Landrat Oliver Quilling gave a tour and shared insights on local administrative structures.
A Diverse Agenda
The visit wasn't just about official appointments. The delegation also explored Dietzenbach! Stops included a stroll through the old town, a visit to the historical museum, a trek up the Wingertsberg, and inspections of select companies and organizations. The guests even dropped by the Chinese General Consulate in Frankfurt and participated in the "Sino-German Urban Summit."
Strengthening Ties: The Dietzenbach-Kunming Partnership
The bond between Dietzenbach and Kunming dates back to 2011, with the official city partnership established in 2020. Over the years, both cities have cultivated close relations in the areas of education, administration, culture, and economy. The trip was meticulously organized by honorary councilman Cengiz Hendek, who administers the partnership with Kunming in the Association for International Relations.

Insight: This visit coincides with a broader focus on sustainable development in China-Germany city partnerships, as indicated by the German-Chinese City Summit held in mid-June 2025. Key themes of the summit included exchanges in areas like administration, education, environment, and culture, promoting international cooperation to address global challenges such as carbon neutrality and livability. It's likely that the Dietzenbach-Kunming partnership also built upon these themes during their visit [1].
What is the main focus of the recent Dietzenbach-Kunming partnership trip? The delegation's itinerary includes visiting landmarks, meeting local officials, and discussing politics, general-news, and strategies for sustainable development in the areas of administration, education, environment, and culture.
