Reported blast in Kyiv, according to Klitschko
In a recent turn of events, it has been confirmed that there was no separate explosion reported in Kyiv, Ukraine, unrelated to the thermal power plant incident. Contrary to initial speculations, Ukrainian drone strikes targeted a military-linked facility in Sergiev Posad, Moscow Oblast, Russia, causing a fire and black smoke, as well as damage to an electrical substation and power outages in six neighborhoods [1].
The thermal power plant incidents and attacks around nuclear and thermal power facilities are documented in Ukraine, but not in Kyiv. Preliminary reports suggest that the explosion in a hangar of a commercial enterprise in Kyiv was due to air defense work, not related to the fire reported by UNIAN earlier [2].
TES-6, the thermal power plant located in the Desnyanskyi district of Kyiv, near Almazne Lake on the northeastern outskirts, was not targeted during the attack on Kyiv. The city experienced a massive attack in the early hours of July 4, with the explosions heard in Kyiv tonight being a result of air defense work, not related to the commercial hangar explosion [2].
Authorities reported that Kyiv's air was heavily polluted following the attack, but no casualties were reported at the time of the explosion in the Poltava region. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that enterprises developing and producing drones, FPV drones, and other robotic mobile complexes, as well as other military equipment, were hit during the attack [3]. High-precision weapons of large range, the hypersonic "Kinzhal" complex, and strike drones were used in the attack on Kyiv.

The incident at the thermal power plant in Kyiv did not occur, and the air defense work was the cause of the explosion reported in a commercial hangar in the city. Politics and general news have emphasized military strikes across different regions, with Ukrainian drone attacks targeting facilities in Russia as well as Ukraine.
