CANCON Arizona 2025 was a smash hit for outdoor enthusiasts, survival aficionados, and hopeless trigger-pullers! This year's event boasted an action-packed schedule featuring countless firearms, more shooting lanes than ever before, top-notch gear vendors, an unparalleled VIP experience, and the debut of the OFFGRID Basecamp!
The OFFGRID Basecamp Experience
OFFGRID Basecamp was designed with one purpose - to elevate the CANCON experience to new heights! Brimming with hands-on training sessions on a variety of critical survival topics, from emergency care to tactical carbine operations, and beyond, the Basecamp made certain no one left empty-handed. Adding the cream to the top, the Basecamp also featured some of the foremost gear vendors in the industry, ensuring attendees left with their fingers dripping in high-quality gear and survival swag.
The Classes
The icing on the cake for this Basecamp adventure were our expert instructors, who offered both VIPs and the general public a wealth of knowledge. Here were some highlights:
American Reconstruction Concepts (ARC): Tactical Carbine Challenge
This heart-pumping challenge was a test of precision and skills under duress. Participants were pushed to their limits, firing efficiently and accurately while maintaining a composed form, all while the clock was ticking. Michael Caughran, a former USAF SERE Specialist and the founder of ARC, led the way. His military precision combined with a practical, civilian mentality had students feeling like real-world warriors!
AVON Protection: Tactical Gas Masks 101
In this hands-on session, attendees got a crash course in respiratory readiness. They learned the ins-and-outs of selecting the best tactical gas masks, how to spot incompatibilities, and how to avoid gear failures that could seriously compromise safety. Content Marketing Specialist for AVON Protection, Jeffery DeSocio, guided the group with his deep industry insights and compelling communication skills.
Greenside Training: Weaponize the Senses
This course covered the art and science of tracking-from identifying subtle footprints to interpreting environmental clues. Students walked away able to determine direction of travel, understand subtle movements in their surroundings, and build a mental map to navigate even the toughest terrains. Greenside Training Founder and Tracking Mastermind, Freddy Osuna, led this course, impressing attendees with his Native American fieldcraft and tactical knowledge.

The Vendors
In addition to the stellar classes offered at the Basecamp, we also welcomed some top-notch vendors:
- PNW Bushcraft * Whisked all the way from the Pacific Northwest, this family-run business brought their rugged, heirloom-quality waxed canvas gear for all to see.
- Stroup Knives * This veteran-owned business displayed their tough-as-nails, budget-friendly survival and combat knives.
- Jack Wolf Knives * Arizona locals Benjamin Belkin and his one-of-a-kind heirloom-quality knives stole the show. Inspired by 80s and 90s culture, these blades were a unique combination of modern materials and timeless style.
- Auxiliary Manufacturing * Known for crafting knives that handle hard use without skimping on style, the team at Auxiliary Manufacturing brought their blade designs to the forefront at our Basecamp event.
- OTIS Technology * Otis showed up in full force, demonstrating their renowned Smart Gun Care products that have revolutionized firearm maintenance.
The VIP Treatment
This year's VIP attendees enjoyed an unforgettable experience, complete with a full day of exclusive shooting, special training courses at the OFFGRID Basecamp, and a swag bag stuffed with premium gear!
VIP Range Day
Things got started early on Thursday, April 10th at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility, with VIPs savoring a catered dinner and exclusive access to a diverse range of fully-suppressed firearms. Attendees swooned over lever-actions, bolt-actions, pistols, rifles, machine guns, and even indulged in a few car-mounted miniguns!
OFFGRID Basecamp VIP Instruction
With the VIP Range Day in full swing, attendees also enjoyed access to expert guidance from the known faces behind the OFFGRID Basecamp. Learning from the best, VIPs got insider knowledge on firearm fundamentals, tactical techniques, gear setup, and mindset-all before the crowds descended upon the range.
Swag Bag Galore
VIPs didn't leave empty-handed. Each lucky attendee received a unique swag bag filled with high-end gear and survival tools. These bags aren't just for Christmas! With a value well over $3400, attendees were feeling the love.
A Full-On, Ear-Safe Weekend
Noise pollution was a thing of the past at CANCON Arizona 2025. With the inclusion of fully-suppressed firearms at every turn, attendees were able to enjoy the fun of shooting without the deafening roar that's often associated with it.
