Report of graphic content on Oklahoma Education Chief's television set does not lead to legal consequences
In a recent turn of events, Oklahoma District Attorney Ryan Walters finds himself at the centre of an investigation concerning allegations of inappropriate images in his office. The allegations were initially reported by the online news outlet NonDoc.
According to the report, board members Becky Carson and Ryan Deatherage claimed to have seen images of naked women on a television in Walters' office during an executive session in July. The television was tuned to a movie channel showing the 1985 film "The Protector," which includes a scene with naked women.
The movie "The Protector" features a scene in which naked women enter a warehouse to package drugs. However, it's important to note that the film is not related to the allegations against Walters.
The Oklahoma County Sheriff's office conducted an investigation into the matter. Sheriff Tommie Johnson III's investigators determined that the television was tuned to "The Protector" during the time of the alleged incident.
Despite the investigation, District Attorney Vicki Behenna declined to file criminal charges regarding the allegations. Behenna stated that there was insufficient evidence to support criminal charges. Walters has since denied any wrongdoing in relation to the allegations.
Walters, a Republican, has been actively involved in various political activities during his first term in office. He has been vocal in his support for President Donald Trump and has been trying to "end what he describes as 'wokeness'" in public schools.
It's also worth mentioning that the U.S. news involves an immigration case. Mahmoud Khalil, who is currently in the United States, was ordered to be deported to either Algeria or Syria by an immigration judge. This case is unrelated to the allegations against Walters.
The Navy's former second-in-command was sentenced to 6 years for a bribery plot, unrelated to the previous events.
Walters has been involved in feuds with teachers unions and local school superintendents. Despite this, he has not responded to a request for comment on the investigation or the district attorney's decision.
It's important to note that the individual involved, Mahmoud Khalil, is not related to the previous allegations against Ryan Walters.
As the investigation continues, more information may come to light. For now, the public awaits further developments in this unfolding story.
