A solar farm under construction near Magdeburg has been hit by thieves multiple times in recent days, with large quantities of non-ferrous metals and tools stolen. The total damage is estimated to be in the mid-five-figure range.

The developer, Statkraft, has confirmed the incidents and revealed that they are taking the matter seriously. Statkraft is known for developing the PV-battery storage hybrid power plant in Zerbst/Anhalt, close to Magdeburg. In response to the thefts, the company has tightened security measures around the site.

Police have also stepped in, announcing increased patrols in the area to deter further criminal activity and help catch those responsible.

The repeated thefts at the solar farm near Magdeburg have resulted in significant damage. Both the developer, Statkraft, and local law enforcement are taking action to prevent future incidents and bring the culprits to justice.
