Renovated Chinquapin Park Recreation Center to resume operations on Monday, following a $1.2 million facelift
The Chinquapin Park Recreation Center and Aquatics Facility in Baltimore City is gearing up for its grand reopening on Monday, September 22, following a six-month renovation project that began in July.
The Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks (BCDRP) has been overseeing the renovation, which includes significant upgrades to the facility's amenities. The project, estimated to cost $1.2 million, aims to provide a modern and improved recreational space for the community.
Heavy construction for the new front desk, lobby lift, universal changing rooms, and a new lifeguard office has been completed. Fresh pool plaster has been installed, and the indoor pool and diving well are now ready for use. The facility also boasts men's and women's saunas, a fitness room, and locker rooms for visitors' convenience.
The renovated facility will offer more than just indoor amenities. Outdoor amenities include a basketball court, nature trails, lighted tennis courts, a playground, a sand volleyball court, and an outdoor picnic pavilion.
