Renovated Sports Facilities at Henfling-Gymnasium Meiningen Now Open to Public
The sports fields at the Henfling-Gymnasium Meiningen, located behind Landratsamt house 4 in Moritz-Seebeck-Allee, have undergone a significant upgrade and are now open for both school and leisure sports.
The renovation project, which started at the beginning of the holidays, aimed to improve the condition of the sports facilities. The worn-out and damaged rubber surfaces of two playing fields were completely removed, and a new, two-layered sports floor covering was laid after cleaning and spot repairs. The modernized sports fields are now free from deliberate damage, as requested by the county administration.
The renovation work was deliberately scheduled during the summer holidays to avoid disrupting school operations. The project, which cost around 150,000 euros and was funded by the county's budget, was completed just in time for the upcoming school week.
One of the playing fields is designed for basketball, while the other is suitable for handball. Recreational football players have been seen using the handball field for a kick, indicating the versatility of the newly renovated facilities.
Landrat Peggy Greiser expressed her hope that many students and sports enthusiasts can enjoy the excellent quality of the new surfaces for a long time. She encourages all users to handle the renovated facilities with care.
