Remscheid Röntgenlauf Celebrates 25 Years with Over 3,400 Runners
The Remscheid Röntgenlauf, celebrating its 25th anniversary, is set to attract over 3,400 runners this year. The event, held on the last Sunday in October, offers a range of distances to cater to all ages and abilities.
The Röntgenlauf route combines asphalt and forest trails, with a challenging elevation gain of 850 meters. The most popular distance is the half marathon, but the event also includes a grueling marathon, considered one of Germany's most demanding. For the young athletes, there's the Bambini race (400 meters) for children aged 4 to 8, and cross-country races for youths aged 8 to 15, ranging from 800 to 2,450 meters.
The 63.3-kilometer ultramarathon is the most challenging, with a course record of four hours and 18 minutes set in 2019. Despite the search results not providing the record holder's name, the feat is a testament to the event's difficulty. Late registrations are welcome up to an hour before each race's start time, with the first race kicking off at 8:30 AM.
The Remscheid Röntgenlauf, in its 23rd edition after pandemic-related cancellations, promises a thrilling day of competition. With its varied distances and challenging terrain, it's an event not to be missed for runners of all levels.
