On August 12, 2025, the Ritterbach-Arena in Wingerode will host a charity match in honour of the late Michael Rogge, a beloved figure in the local football community. The event will see SV Schwarz-Rot Wingerode take on SC 1911 Heiligenstadt, with the proceeds going to Rogge's family.

Michael Rogge, born on September 22, 1966, joined SV Schwarz-Rot Wingerode's board of directors in 2006 as the youth coordinator. His dedication to the club was evident from the start, and he soon became an integral part of the team.

In 2014, Rogge took on the role of football department leader, further cementing his position within the club. His leadership and mentorship were instrumental in the team's success, both on and off the pitch.

One of Rogge's most significant contributions was the merger of the men's teams with Reinholterode in 2018. This move strengthened the club and paved the way for future success. In the same year, he also drove the establishment of the Leinetal youth team partnership.

Apart from football, Rogge had a great passion for pigeon racing, which he pursued together with his father. For years, he transmitted the results of the racing pigeons of the travel association Heiligenstadt to the daily newspaper.

The charity match will kick off at 6:30 PM and aims to be an evening filled with memories and gratitude. The organizing team has stated that they want to share stories and memories together, apart from just playing football that evening.

The unique musical atmosphere for the evening will be provided by the band Thanas. This promises to be a night to remember, honouring a man who dedicated decades of his life to SV Schwarz-Rot Wingerode and the Eichsfeld football community.

Michael Rogge was a personality that clubs rarely see these days, having dedicated himself to his home club and shaped it in many ways. He was a role model, inspiring young players with his commitment and sportsmanship.

In 2021, Rogge was awarded the Golden Pin from the Thuringian Football Association at the club's 100th anniversary. This recognition spoke volumes about his impact on the local football scene.

Michael Rogge was married and a father of two, and recently enjoyed spending time with his grandchild. Tragically, he passed away on July 3, 2025, at the age of 58.

Wingerode and SV Schwarz-Rot will never forget their Michael. His legacy will live on through the charity match and the memories shared that evening. If you are interested in learning more about his specific accomplishments, these might be available through club archives, local sports associations in Eichsfeld, or community publications.

On August 12, 2025, Michael Rogge's contributions to the sports of football and pigeon racing will be celebrated at the charity match held in his honor at the Ritterbach-Arena in Wingerode. Despite his passion for European leagues, especially the Champions League, it's speculated that Rogge might have envisioned an evening filled with stories and memories of his time with SV Schwarz-Rot Wingerode and local teams, rather than competing in international competitions.
