In a career spanning over six decades, Ron Logan, a former Executive Vice President and Executive Producer for Walt Disney Entertainment, left an indelible mark on the world of live entertainment, particularly at Disney's theme parks.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Logan's journey began at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he graduated with bachelor's and master's degrees in Music and Music Education. His talent as a trumpet player led him to join Walt Disney Company in an unspecified year, starting as the music director at Walt Disney World in Florida.

Logan's career with Disney saw him rise through the ranks, eventually becoming the Executive Vice President and Executive Producer of Walt Disney Entertainment Worldwide. During his tenure, he was instrumental in producing large-scale live entertainment for Disney's parks, overseeing the creation and execution of various live shows and performances.

Logan's contributions extended beyond Disney, bringing joy to countless people through his work. In recognition of his significant impact, he was named a Disney Legend in 2007.

One of his most notable achievements was producing five Super Bowl halftime shows, a testament to his ability to deliver spectacular live entertainment on a grand scale.

After retiring in 2001, Logan continued to be honoured for his career and work. The School of Music at UCLA, where his journey began, recognised his accomplishments. Before joining Disney, Logan served as director of bands at James Monroe High School in Sepulveda and director of bands and jazz studies at Long Beach City College.

In the summer of 1961, while still a senior trumpet major at UCLA, Logan led a breakout jazz band that played for King Frederick of Denmark during a tour of Europe. This early experience showcased his talent and passion for music, setting the stage for his successful career in the entertainment industry.

Ron Logan passed away on August 30, 2022, leaving behind a legacy of innovative and captivating live entertainment experiences that continue to delight visitors at Disney parks worldwide. His work will forever be remembered as a testament to the power of creativity and dedication in shaping the world of entertainment.
