Remembering Ayub Bachchu: Pioneer of Bangla Rock Music
Today marks seven years since the passing of legendary Bangla rock musician Ayub Bachchu. The pioneer, born August 16, 1962, in Chattogram, left an indelible mark on the music scene with his extensive discography and influential bands.
Bachchu's career spanned over four decades, during which he recorded 28 albums, including 16 solo projects. His musical prowess extended beyond his solo work; he played in bands like Feelings and Souls, and founded LRB in 1991. This experimental band released its first album in a double-disc format.
Bachchu's musical legacy includes composing over 500 songs, with popular hits like 'Cholo Bodle Jai' and 'Rupali Guitar'. He started his musical journey at the age of 14 with his first band, Spider. In 1978, he joined Feelings and later moved on to Souls in 1980, serving as their lead guitarist for a decade. Bachchu's impact was such that he even owned a music studio, AB Kitchen, in Moghbazar.
Ayub Bachchu's influence on Bangla rock music is undeniable. His seven-year absence leaves a void, but his music continues to inspire and resonate with fans. Today, we remember the legendary musician and celebrate his enduring legacy.
