Poker MegaStar Daniel Negreanu's Unstoppable Run at the 2025 WSOP

Poker legend Daniel Negreanu has set the poker world abuzz with his electrifying performance at the 2025 WSOP. In less than three weeks, he has secured a remarkable triple $10K final table finishes and come tantalizingly close to nabbing that elusive eighth bracelet.

His unrelenting quest for WSOP dominance continues, and Negreanu is leaving no stone unturned. The 30 online WSOP bracelet events may not attract as much attention, but as history books will attest, these events count every bit as much - with your best performances earning Player of the Year points too. Negreanu demonstrated his grit in Event #9, the $400 buy-in PLOssus PKO 6-Max on Saturday, just after busting out of the live $10K Limit Championship in eighth place.

As Negreanu pointed out in his vlog, "Unlimited re-entries mean we're gonna go crazy... We're gonna put every chip in the pot. It doesn't matter what we have."

The Bullet Merry-Go-Round

Remarkably, Negreanu bowed out 13 times, without securing a win. As he lamented, "This is nuts. 13 bullets... what the hell? I just want to win one."

The 14th bullet, however, proved to be his lucky charm, and he quickly built a formidable stack as late reg shut down. "Now we play good, we don't have to goof around," he said.

Negreanu is well aware that unlimited rebuys provide players like him with an immense advantage. "Before you lay into me, I know this already... If I could make the rules, this wouldn't be a thing. But I'm not going to turn down the opportunity."

Money and More for Negreanu

Back to the PLOssus, Negreanu cruised into the money stage. He analyzed several of his large pots on his vlog, including one with [92] that saw him bag a straight on the board. This put him at 31st out of the 169 participants and, with 82 left, he climbed to 5th place.

Alas, bracelet victory eluded him once again, and when the final hand arrived, it was a bitter pill to swallow.

Negreanu was up against an opponent with on the board. "Let's gamble. I think he's got the QJ, but I'm not folding."

His opponent, however, flipped . "What the f*ck," said Negreanu as the hit the river. "He made the flush... Damn. 31st... I actually thought I was going to win this tournament for a second. I really did."

The WSOP floor is always being polished and re-dashed, and for Negreanu, that means the $250K buy-in Super High Roller is up next.

"Tomorrow's a big one," he confirmed at the end of his vlog, adding that he wouldn't be joining the action from the start: "We're gonna show up when we're ready." Ready, as it turned out, was 4.30pm. We'll bring you an update of his progress in this one at the end of the day.

From $400 buy-ins one day to $250,000 buy-ins the next. Only at the World Series of Poker.

Insight: Unlimited Rebuys in Poker Tournaments

Unlimited rebuys allow players to repurchase chips an unlimited number of times during the rebuy period if they lose their chips. This format impacts the tournament dynamics significantly, providing both advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages:- Increased chance to recover from early losses- Larger prize pools- Opportunity to adjust strategy

Disadvantages:- Frustrating for players with smaller bankrolls- Changes the flow and dynamics of the tournament- Potentially longer early rounds

For a veteran like Daniel Negreanu, the format offers both a chance to maximize his skills and a test against increased variance.

Despite his impressive performance in poker tournaments, including a triple $10K final table finish at the 2025 WSOP, Daniel Negreanu lamented his bad luck in the online WSOP event, the $400 buy-in PLOssus PKO 6-Max, where he went through 13 bullets without securing a win. However, the 14th bullet proved to be his lucky charm as he built a formidable stack and earned a spot in the money stage, finishing in 31st place. In the upcoming $250K buy-in Super High Roller, Negreanu will continue his unstoppable run in the world of sports, demonstrating his mastery of poker and his ability to adapt to various tournament formats.
