Remarkable homage to the Poohs, aimed at enhancing resources for the visually impaired and blind community in Novara
The New Pop Orchestra, an amateur symphony orchestra composed of around 85 musicians, is set to perform in a special tribute to the iconic Italian band, the Pooh. The event, scheduled for October 15th at the Teatro Coccia, promises an unforgettable evening of music.
The New Pop Orchestra has made a name for itself by studying and executing various pieces by major film music composers, including John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Ennio Morricone, Alan Silvestri, Klaus Badelt, and Henry Mancini. This versatility extends to their repertoire, which includes film soundtracks, musicals, pop rock songs, and even pieces by Deep Purple, Queen, Beatles, Fabrizio De André, and the Pooh themselves.
In a unique collaboration, the New Pop Orchestra will be joining forces with the tribute band, The Color of Thoughts, aiming to replicate the original sounds of the Pooh. This partnership was initiated by Red Canzian, a member of the Pooh, who selected The Color of Thoughts for a recording project in 2013. The recording was done at the Recording Studio, which is the Pooh's headquarters, and was included in the compilation "Pooh Tribute Band Project," produced by Red Canzian.
The New Pop Orchestra's inclusive nature is evident in their diverse range of participants, with a mix of ages and varying levels of musical training. In the coming months, they will also collaborate with Welcome to the Guns for a Guns'n Roses concert. Notably, the proceeds from these events will be donated to the Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Novara.
