After a long and extensive search, the human remains found in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, have been identified as those of Richard Dyson. Dyson, a 55-year-old man, went missing on November 17, 2019, while walking along the A6135 Sheffield Road in Hoyland.

The police have urged the public and media to respect Dyson's loved ones' privacy during this difficult time. South Yorkshire Police is continuing its investigation into Dyson's death.

Two men, aged 72 and 71, who were re-arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with Dyson's case, have been bailed as investigations continue. No further information about the circumstances surrounding Dyson's disappearance or the cause of his death has been provided.

Detective Inspector Adam Watkinson expressed his thoughts, stating, "Our thoughts are with Richard Dyson's family on this difficult day. We are continuing to appeal to anyone with information that could help our investigation to come forward."

The remains were found on Broadcarr Road in Hoyland, Barnsley, on July 14. Scenes were put in place on Dike Hill, Sheffield Road, and Hoyland Common during the search for Dyson.

South Yorkshire Police stated that there would be an ongoing presence at the property for the next two weeks or so. The police are urging anyone with information to come forward to help in the investigation.
