Reinforcement of Wrexham's Offensive Line with the Addition of Kieffer Moore
Wrexham AFC has made a significant move in the transfer market, announcing the signing of Welsh striker Kieffer Moore from Sheffield United on a three-year contract. The deal, estimated to be around £2 million, marks a record fee for the club and a promising addition to their squad as they gear up for their first season in the EFL Championship since 1982.
With the departure of Paul Mullin and Jake Bickerstaff, Wrexham now boasts a total of eight senior strikers. The latest addition, Kieffer Moore, brings a wealth of Championship and international experience to the team.
Moore's career journey began in the Torquay United youth system as a teenager. After a stint in the South Devon League's Paignton Saints, he started his senior career at Truro City in the Conference South. Financial issues at Truro led him to Dorchester Town, where he impressed with 20 goals in a single season, catching the eye of Yeovil Town.
Moore played over 50 matches for Yeovil Town before a short spell in Norway with Viking FK. He then returned to England with Forest Green Rovers, followed by a loan to his hometown club, Torquay United, where he scored five goals in four games.
In 2017, Moore moved to Ipswich Town and was later loaned to Rotherham United, where he scored 13 goals in 20 matches. This impressive form led to a transfer to Barnsley in the Championship. Moore's career then took him to Cardiff City, where he scored 25 goals in 64 appearances, and later to Sheffield United, contributing to their Championship play-off final campaign.
Internationally, Moore debuted for Wales in 2019 and played at UEFA Euro 2020. He also appeared at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Wrexham's manager, Phil Parkinson, is excited about Moore's arrival at the club. "Kieffer is a proven goalscorer in the Championship and has a lot of international experience," Parkinson said. "He will be an experienced leader and bring a lot to our team."
This is the eighth signing for Wrexham AFC this summer. The club has also added Danny Ward (goalkeeper), Ryan Hardie (forward), Liberato Cacace (defender), George Thomason (midfielder), Lewis O'Brien, and Josh Windass to their squad.
Wrexham AFC's first match in the EFL Championship will be against Southampton at St Mary's Stadium on August 9. The future looks promising for Wrexham AFC and their new addition, Kieffer Moore, as they strive for success in the second tier of English football.
