Reinforcement of Wrexham's Offensive Line through the Acquisition of Kieffer Moore
Wrexham AFC has bolstered its attacking line with the signing of Kieffer Moore, a seasoned striker with an impressive career spanning over a decade. The 32-year-old joins the Welsh club on a three-year contract, marking his eighth signing for the team this summer.
Born in England, Moore began his career at Torquay United's youth system before moving to non-league clubs Truro City and Dorchester Town. His prolific goal-scoring records at these clubs earned him a move to Yeovil Town in League One in 2013. After over fifty appearances for Yeovil, Moore had a brief spell in Norway with Viking FK before returning to England with Forest Green Rovers.
Notable stops in Moore's career include Rotherham United, Cardiff City, and Bournemouth, where he notably scored the goal that secured their promotion to the Premier League in 2022. His international career took off when he qualified to play for Wales, making his senior debut in 2019 and contributing to Wales' qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, their first since 1958.
Moore has made 49 appearances for Wales, scoring 14 goals, including a recent World Cup qualifying win over Liechtenstein in June. His work ethic, leadership, and experience in English football’s Championship level and international competitions with Wales make him a valuable addition to the Wrexham squad.
Wrexham's manager, Phil Parkinson, expressed his excitement about Moore's arrival, stating, "Kieffer has a lot of Championship and international experience, which will be invaluable to us as we prepare for our first season in the EFL Championship since 1982."
Moore's arrival at Wrexham comes as the club gears up for its first match in the EFL Championship, scheduled against Southampton at St Mary's Stadium on August 9. The team has also signed goalkeeper Danny Ward, forward Ryan Hardie, defender Liberato Cacace, midfielder George Thomason, Lewis O'Brien, and forward Josh Windass this summer.
Under the ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, Wrexham is in discussions to sign Nathan Broadhead from Ipswich Town for a record fee of approximately £7.5 million. With these signings, Wrexham AFC now has eight senior strikers, following the departures of Paul Mullin and Jake Bickerstaff.
Moore, expressing his enthusiasm for joining Wrexham AFC, stated, "I'm really looking forward to joining Wrexham AFC and being an experienced leader, bringing a lot to the team. I want to help drive the team forward and contribute to our success in the EFL Championship."
With Moore's addition, Wrexham AFC is poised to make a strong impact in the EFL Championship, bringing together a team with a blend of youth and experience.
Kieffer Moore's extensive experience in soccer, particularly in English football's Championship level and international competitions, positions him well to contribute to Wrexham AFC's soccer squad, especially in their upcoming matches in the EFL Championship, such as the first game against Southampton. His previous football endeavors, which include playing for various clubs like Rotherham United, Cardiff City, and Bournemouth, will undoubtedly strengthen the team's attacking line, giving them a significant edge on the sports field.
