In the span of July 7th to July 14th, a Verdi warning strike is ongoing across various sectors and regions in Hesse, including Darmstadt. This strike will impact the municipal operation for communal tasks and services (EAD), leading to the cancellation of all appointments for bulky waste collection during the strike period.

To help residents manage their waste during this time, the city has made arrangements for temporary waste disposal locations. However, there is currently no specific information available about emergency waste disposal locations in Darmstadt during the Verdi strike.

Residents are encouraged to check official announcements from the City of Darmstadt or its waste management services for updates regarding emergency waste collection points or alternative disposal options. Visiting the Verdi Hessen website or their press releases for updates related to the local strike and public services impacts is also advisable. For real-time information, contacting Darmstadt local government offices or waste authorities directly is recommended.

To alleviate some of the pressure from the situation, the city has set up containers at various locations, including Darmstadt-West at Standplatz Heidelberger Straße 133 / ComedyHall / Parkplatz, Eberstadt, Am Frankenstein at Standplatz Heidelberger Landstraße 379 / Klinikum Eberstadt / Einfahrt, Arheilgen, Frankfurter Landstraße east at Standplatz Greinstraße / Glockengartenweg / Glasstandplatz, Eberstadt-Villenkolonie at Standplatz Louise-Dittmar-Straße 22-30 / Glasstandplatz Unterflur, and two containers at the EAD operations yard or recycling center in Sensfelderweg 33.

Additionally, waste containers can be found in Arheilgen, Blumenviertel at Standplatz Schorlemmerstraße / Lupinweg / Aldi Glasstandplatz, Arheilgen, Auf der Hardt at Standplatz Auf der Hardt / Woogsweg / Parkplatz SG Arheilgen, Kranichstein at Standplatz Gruberstraße / corner Jägertorstraße / Glasstandplatz, Eberstadt-Nord, Am Lämmesberg at Standplatz Georgenstraße / Reuterallee / Parkplatz Glasstandplatz, and Rhönhring, parts of Darmstadt-Nord at Standplatz Alsfelder Straße / Nordbad / Parkplatz.

It is important to note that the waste containers will be available from Friday (07th) from 07:00 to 13:00 on all strike days. Citizens are asked to use the waste disposal containers sparingly and not to put their bulky waste on the street during the strike.

Mayor André Schellenberg appeals for the use of the waste disposal containers to be sparing, and EAD employees will be on site to answer questions. Residents are also asked not to bring waste that can be disposed of at a later time to the containers.

For the latest and most accurate information, residents are encouraged to stay informed and follow the advice provided by the city and waste management services during the Verdi warning strike.
