Regional Victors: Sandhausen, Großaspach, and Bahlingen
Germans SV Sandhausen, SG Sonnenhof Großaspach, and Bahlinger SC have triumphed in their respective regional cup finals, earning a spot in the first round of the DFB-Pokal. The victories that took place on May 24, 2025 also secured each team an approximately 210,000 euro prize for participating in the August tournament.
In the Baden Cup final in Eppingen, third-division relegated Sandhausen struggled against sixth-division Türkischer SV Pforzheim. Despite dominating the game, Sandhausen found it challenging to break through Pforzheim's defense initially. Taylan Duman managed to score the first goal in the 52nd minute following the halftime break. Bahlinger SC faced FC Auggen in the Südbaden Cup final; both sides played a tight game before eventually needing a penalty shootout to determine the winner. Bahlinger emerged victorious with a 5-3 score, despite having more possession and the best chance during regular play.
The amateur clubs are eligible for significantly increased revenue through their participation in the DFB-Pokal's first round. The next "Finaltag der Amateure" is scheduled for May 24, 2025, though the detailed results of each regional cup final are yet to be reported.
