In a significant gathering, the prime ministers of Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania convened in the picturesque town of Cesis, Latvia, over the weekend for an annual informal meeting. The focus of this year's event was primarily on regional development and strengthening Baltic cooperation.

Hosted by Latvia's Prime Minister, Evika Silina, the discussions revolved around economic collaboration, infrastructure projects, and joint initiatives to foster digital and green transformation in the region. Although specific outcomes have not been detailed, such meetings typically aim to align policy approaches to foster sustainable growth, improve connectivity, and reinforce political and security cooperation within the Baltic states.

The prime ministers also addressed additional important issues such as cultural exchanges, education policies, and common responses to regional security challenges. These topics underscore the shared historical context and strategic interests of the Baltic countries within European and transatlantic frameworks.

The meetings provided an opportunity for the leaders to get acquainted with local businesses, including a visit to the Ligatne Paper Mill. They also had a hands-on experience of various aspects of STEAM education at the Cesis Space Exploration Center.

On the cultural front, the prime ministers attended a concert called Dedication by opera singer Elina Garanca at the Vidzeme Concert Hall. The gathering concluded with a visit to the Cesis Space Exploration Center on Sunday.

It is worth noting that Latvia is currently holding the presidency of the Baltic Council of Ministers, and such visits strengthen cooperation among the Baltic countries. Anna Udre, the communications adviser to Latvia's Prime Minister Evika Silina, emphasised the importance of showcasing Latvia's entrepreneurial spirit outside the capital.

These informal meetings provide a platform for the Baltic leaders to discuss issues of importance to the region in a relaxed setting. The latest and specific outcomes of the Cesis meeting can be found on official government or regional news portals from Latvia, Estonia, or Lithuania.
