KUALA LUMPUR, May 27 - The official theme song for the Asean Summit 2025 has been unveiled as "Our Land, Our Home," a composition that aims to celebrate the region's diverse cultures and backgrounds through music. Composer Datuk Mokhzani Ismail revealed the song's creation process, choosing acclaimed singer Aina Abdul for her powerful diction and emotional delivery.
Datuk Mokhzani Ismail, the mastermind behind the melody, composed the song in two weeks, designs it to embody the soul of Asean. He delved into the roles, histories, and backgrounds of the member states to ensure that each note represented the region's unity in diversity. Aina Abdul, selected for her clear English pronunciation and ability to convey deep emotion, was the perfect choice to perform the song.
The melodies and lyrics of "Our Land, Our Home" are intended to send a message of unity, and the composer crafted the melody to suit Aina's vocal range. The song's title strengthens the message of unity in diversity, penned by Rafiza Rahman, an administrative and diplomatic officer at the Communications Ministry.
