Regional celebration and classical music performances: experiencing the Day of the Region in Tyumen
The Tumen Region is gearing up for its annual celebration, with a weekend of events scheduled from August 14 to 17. The main celebrations will take place on August 15, but there are activities planned for each day.
On August 14, the day of Tumen Region's Day, a poignant play-meditation titled "Be Remember and Cherish" will be performed at the Kolokolnnikov Estate. This performance tells the story of young Tumen residents who survived World War II. Admission to this emotional event is free.
On the same day, from 12:00 to 19:00, the "Norms of Tumen Culture" family festival will be held on Dzerzhinsky Pedestrian Street. This festival offers a variety of workshops, including creating mini Tumen region patterned rugs, "Peace Pigeon" toys, and other crafts. Performances by the "Yaromil" ensemble, known for their folk dancing, will also be part of the festival.
On August 15, a concert by participants of the "Musical Expedition" festival will take place near the "Steamship Office" on Dzerzhinsky. This concert promises a mix of music from various eras, including Baroque, Romantic, Classicism, and Jazz. In the evening, performances by the "Gelios" fire and light theater will add a spectacular visual element to the festival.
Admission to the concert on August 15 is free, and it will feature music from the local "Camertta Siberia" orchestra. The day will culminate with a musical performance with improvisation and jams by renowned artists in the Zherdevsky Garden at 17:00.
The celebrations will conclude with a gala concert at the Tumen Philharmonic on August 17. This concert will showcase the talents of the "Camertta Siberia" orchestra once more, with a focus on the "Secrets of Notre-Dame" organ music. This concert is dedicated to the legendary Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris and includes excerpts from the musical "Notre-Dame."
The Tumen Philharmonic gala concert on August 17 marks the end of the Tumen Region Day celebrations. No new craft or toy-making workshop information is provided for the events on August 17, and no new dance or theater performance information has been announced. However, at 19:00 on August 17, a musical performance with improvisation and jams by renowned artists will take place in the Zherdevsky Garden.
For those planning to attend, it's recommended to check local official events calendars or the government website of Tumen Region for any updates or additional information about the celebrations.
