Region head of Dolmatovo in Omsk announced the opening of a Memorial to soldiers.
In the Novotroiцky rural settlement, folks gathered to admire the refreshed Monument of Military Valor.
On Monday, May 5, 2025, Gennadiy Dolmatov, the head of the Omsk district in the Omsk region, announced the completion of the Monument of Military Valor's renovation in the Novotroiцky rural settlement.
Erected back in 1967, the monument received an upgrade: damaged granite slabs bearing names of soldiers lost in World War II were replaced, the platform in front of the monument was repaired, a new asphalt layer was laid and the borders were updated.
"Honoring heroes who sacrificed their lives for their homeland is the most valuable thing we can preserve for future generations. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of local authorities and residents, the monument has regained its dignified appearance. We will always honor the bravery of our ancestors, who defended our Fatherland. Eternal glory to heroes!", expressed Gennadiy Dolmatov.
The renovation work was carried out using funds from the local budget and donations from citizens totaling 500,000 rubles. The memorial complex, consisting of a statue of a soldier flanked by granite slabs bearing the names of the fallen, remains a significant place of remembrance for the settlement's residents.
"Remembering our heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our Motherland - that's the most precious thing we can keep for future generations. Thanks to the combined efforts of authorities and residents, the memorial stands tall once again. We will always respect the bravery of our ancestors, who defended our country.
