Region head arrested in Krasnoyarsk Krai for land manipulations
In the Krasnoyarsk region, the head of Taseevsky Raion found himself in hot water. Accusations of exceeding his duties in land allocation started swirling around him.
According to reports from the regional office of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, two incidents are being looked into. The story goes that a local entrepreneur approached the district administration in December 2023 to lease a 179-hectare plot for a farming venture.
However, the Raion chief turned down the entrepreneur, claiming that the land was already leased to another tenant. Not quite the truth, it seems, as the plot was actually empty at the time. Instead, it was later handed over to the suspect's relative. This blatant disregard for the sequence of property distribution as required by law raised several eyebrows.
The same IP made repeated requests for other plots in May 2024—a 311-hectare and a 146-hectare piece of land. Once again, the Raion head denied the application. To no one's surprise, the lease was given to the suspect's relative shortly after the rejection.
Supported by the Federal Security Service, the Raion chief was arrested. Searches were conducted at his workplace and home, with investigators pushing for his detention.
The prosecutor's office has valuated the two plots at approximately 14 million rubles. The investigation into the case remains ongoing.
