Region backs peripheral locales as certain inhabitants continue to be dislocated

On August 8, Wichathon Wongpan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nation TV, represented the Nation Foundation as they delivered much-needed supplies to the Prasat district in Surin. The aid was intended to support the care of displaced people in two subdistricts of Phanom Dong Rak district, which remain within the border zone and have yet to see the return of residents.
The supplies included 200 mosquito nets, silent generators, dry food, and canned coffee. This aid was part of the "Nation Shares Kindness" project, a humanitarian initiative driven by the Nation Group and the Nation Foundation for over 10 days. The project aims to support those affected by the ongoing Thailand-Cambodia border situation.
However, certain areas remain restricted by local authorities, and not all residents have been able to return home. The border situation remains complex, with diplomatic crises, including the recall of ambassadors and border checkpoint closures, adding to the challenges faced by those affected.
As of August 2025, the conflict, which involved F-16 airstrikes, cross-border shelling, and resulted in tens of thousands of people being displaced, has yet to see a lasting resolution.
