Let's take a gander at Pivot's revamped Firebird, the stylish enduro bike redesigned for 2025. With a variety of size options and builds to choose from, this ride's ready for some heli-shuttling action in New Zealand.

Pivot Firebird 2025: What You Needta Know

  1. The lowdown: Lowered bottom bracket, slackened head tube angle, steeper seat tube angle, 170mm travel front and 165mm rear, Fox suspension all around, and a whopping 10 builds to select.
  2. Sizes and differences: 5 options ranging from XS to XL, allowing a broader spectrum of riders to partake in the fun.
  3. Special Edition Colorway: For the fashion-forward, Pro and Team builds come with a limited-edition purple galaxy colorway - add an extra $200 to your bill.
  4. Fox Live Valve Neo Option: Spend even more cash for wireless dropper post and the coil shock upgrade.
  5. Price Range: Prices start from €6,999 and go up to €14,199 - not for the budget-conscious.

The All-New Geometry:

While the essence of the Firebird remains unchanged, Pivot engineered it "ground-up" for 2025. Here are the key changes:

  1. Slacker head tube angle: 63.8°
  2. Steeper seat tube angle: 77°
  3. Lowered bottom bracket: 5mm
  4. Brakes shifted to the back: Provides better clearance with the oversized headset and allows for more aftermarket headset options.

Suspension and Adjustability:

The DW-Link suspension has been enhanced for 2025, keeping the bike responsive to pedal input. The Frame-enesia (patent-pending) Swinger Dropout system allows for chainstay length adjustment, with options for both UDH and SRAM Transmission.

The Flip Chip provides two settings depending on the type of riding, and both 29in and MX wheel setups are available. The suspension curve progressivity can also be adjusted, offering two settings compatible with air or coil shocks.

On-bike Storage and Accessories:

The Firebird uses the Toolshed system for in-frame storage, allowing riders to carry tools, tubes, and snacks. The bike is also compatible with products from the Pivot Dock Tool System like the Dock Ninja Tool Box T16+ and Dock Ninja CO2.

The simplified cable routing includes a dual cable port for two hoses at the head tube, and integrated cable clips help reduce rattling.

Sizes, Colors, and Specs:

Available to riders between 4ft 11in and 6ft 5in, the Firebird offers three color choices: white gold, YOLO, and a limited-edition purple galaxy available only on Pro and Team builds.

There are ten builds to choose from, with prices ranging from €6,999 to €14,199. All bikes use Fox suspension components, and there are options to upgrade to carbon wheels and a Fox Live Valve Neo coil shock and dropper upgrade.

The purple galaxy colorway is limited to 200 bikes and costs an extra $200. The Firebird will be available from dealers starting 2 April. So, will the 2025 model maintain its high standards and stay among the best enduro bikes on sale? Guess we'll just have to see.
