Amid the excitement of watching her brother's dream come true, Lia shared that her Instagram following skyrocketed from a modest 3,000 to a staggering 17,400!
"It's been extraordinary," Lia, a Florida State University grad, told WEEI[3]. As of this moment, her following has soared beyond 18,300 followers[1].
While Lia didn't reveal specifics about the messages she received, she did chuckle over a few, including one where someone accidentally hit a baseball in her DMs and asked her to return it[3].
The entire Anthony clan was there to witness Roman's big moment, including dad Anthony Sr., brother Tony, and mom Lori[3].
NESN sideline reporter Jahmai Webster took the time to interview the Anthony family during the game, which played a significant role in Lia's viral fame[3]. However, Roman was unfazed by the attention, concentrating on his climb to the big leagues.
Lia added that this was her inaugural trip to Boston, where she was greeted warmly. She even had the chance to meet Red Sox legend, Big Papi (David Ortiz), describing the encounter as "otherworldly"[3].
