Red Sox manager, Alex Cora, and Yankees hitter, Aaron Judge, share a heartwarming interaction with Cora's twin boys.
A Lively Encounter: Alex Cora's Adorable Twins Meet Aaron Judge
In the midst of their heated AL East rivalry, Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora managed to arrange a fun encounter between his twin 7-year-old sons and New York Yankees star Aaron Judge.
"'They were like 'No, no. He's a rival,''' the Boston manager recallingly said, as his boys initially shied away from meeting Judge.
Determined to break the ice, Cora boldly mentioned players who have spent time with both teams, like Alex Verdugo. After some persuasion, the brothers finally got a chance to meet the towering 6-foot-7 All-Star on Saturday night during Boston's 4-3 win. Dressed in the team's new alternate jerseys in Fenway green, the boys couldn't help but feel starstruck.
Judge, ever the gentleman, posed for a photo with the boys and even handed one of them a set of batting gloves.
"I only had one pair on me, so that's all I could do," Judge explained with a smile.
Off the field, Judge and Cora acknowledge their rivalry, but away from the 7 o'clock battle, they share an appreciation for the sport and community. Judge revealed that he's been looking forward to meeting Cora's boys for quite some time.
Cora had been hoping to set up this special meet-and-greet, as he has long admired Judge's incredible skills on the field.
"I'm a fan of all these guys. These guys, they kick our butt and sometimes we do it to them," Cora admitted.
Cora's sons, while initially nervous, quickly warmed up to Judge and even chatted about baseball, giving their father a few moments of delight.
Cora humorously shared that his wife, Angelica, was eager to hear all about the boys' experience.
Meanwhile, Judge celebrated his first Father's Day as a father to baby Nora Rose. He cherished the opportunity to make magical memories with fans and hopes to share similar moments with Cora's boys again soon.
"Just try to take maybe five minutes, six minutes out of my day. That's a memory they get to have for a lifetime," Judge expressed.
To make the day even more memorable for Cora's boys, Judge has promised to send another pair of batting gloves – one for each twin.
Eager to add a unique twist to the baseball world, Alex Cora, the Boston Red Sox manager, revealed his intention to introduce his twins to New York Yankees star, Aaron Judge, during the MLB season.
During their exciting encounter at Fenway Park in Toronto, Judge showcased his sporting camaraderie by gifting each of Cora's boys with a pair of batting gloves, hoping to create lasting memories on their first Father's Day.
