The German swimming team bagged two golds, two silvers, and one bronze in the pool competitions, while also securing four golds, two silvers, and one bronze in open water swimming. This impressive result marked their most successful performance in pool competitions since 2009.

One of the standout performers was Sven Schwarz, who expressed his surprise and disbelief at his second podium finish at the event. Schwarz clinched a silver medal in the 1500 meters freestyle, finishing behind Tunisia's Ahmed Jaouadi. This performance followed his previous silver medal win in the 800 meters freestyle at the same World Championships.

Another notable achievement came from Anna Elendt, who secured a surprising victory in the 100-meter breaststroke. Meanwhile, Pauline Pfeiffer stunned everyone by winning silver from the 10-meter platform.

The young Chinese swimmer, Yu Zidi, also made history by winning a bronze medal with the 4x200 meters freestyle relay. At just 12 years old, Zidi became the youngest World Championship medalist in swimming history, causing quite a debate.

Florian Wellbrock, another German swimmer, finished fifth in the 1500 meters freestyle, while also winning four gold medals in open water swimming, one of which was with the relay team.
