Manchester United Secures Benjamin Sesko in €85 Million Deal

Manchester United has officially announced the signing of Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig on a five-year contract until June 2030. The total transfer fee is around €85 million (approximately £74 million / $98.8 million), with an initial payment of about €76.5 million (£66.3 million) and additional performance-related add-ons of €8.5 million (£7.3 million).

Sesko, who is just 22 years old, scored an impressive 21 goals in 45 appearances for Leipzig last season, making him a highly sought-after talent. Despite strong bids from Newcastle United that exceeded the initial offers, Sesko expressed a clear preference to join Manchester United, influencing the final outcome.

The transfer represents a strategic move by Manchester United, addressing their need for a prolific striker as part of Ruben Amorim's team rebuild. Sesko's signing marks a key acquisition following other summer signings, pushing United's total spending over £200 million.

In addition to the transfer fee, Leipzig will receive a sell-on clause entitling them to a percentage of any future transfer fee, and the agreement includes organising a friendly match between the two clubs in the future.

Sesko's impressive performance background includes 27 goals and 7 assists in the Bundesliga. As an international player, he will be joining Manchester United ahead of their return to the Champions League next season. Sesko is often compared to striker star Erling Haaland, and the bidding war between Manchester United and Newcastle United drove up the purchase price for the young talent.

With Sesko's signing, Manchester United has added a promising young striker to their roster, further strengthening their squad ahead of the new season.
